Late Night Run to Safeway 5/6/11

I had a Friday night date with Safeway! I bought two gift cards for this weekend's deals/shopping trips and paid an extra $8 bucks for everything else (and for better or worse [worse for couponing purposes], I don't live in a doubling area). The best thing is the balance of healthy veggies and snacks from this trip!

Transaction #1

• $25 Macy's Gift Card - Will use this card w/$10 off $25+ coupon good until 1pm at Macy's today.
• $25 Starbucks Gift Card - Will use this card w/Starbucks Happy Hour Fraps promotion (half price fraps until 5/16/11 from 3pm-5pm).
• = Total: $50.00
• Got $10.00 towards next grocery purchase!
• Note: Safeway has a Mother's Day promotion where a customer can get $10 back towards their next grocery purchase if they buy $50 worth of gift cards from select stores (see below). Knowing I was going to buy other items on this trip, I purchased the gift cards first in order to get the $10 bucks to spend on the following transaction.

• 3 Hallmark Cards $1.99 each (w/$5 towards next grocery purchase)
• 10 Carrots .99/lb
• 2 bunches of Parsley $1.29 each (not the greatest price, but I had a coupon!)
• Six Bananas .79/lb
• 2 Bags of Pretzel Crisps $3.99 each
• 1 Tribe Hummus $4.99 each
• 1 Digiorno's Pizza & Breadsticks $5.00 (Friday only sale)

• ONE Free Bag of Pretzel Crisps Mq ($3.99 value). After a different Safeway wouldn't take my Facebook printed Mqs, I emailed the manufacturer who apologized and sent me a VIP coupon good for 1 free bag. Thank you to the Snack Factory! For most of you, use the B1G1F Mq from Facebook (no longer available).
• ONE Free Tribe Hummus w/2 Pretzel Crisps purchase ($4.99 value). Find this coupon directly above the item in the deli section at your local Safeway. 
• ONE Digiorno's Pizza & Breadsticks $1.25 off Mq

• Snapple Peach Tea 6-Pack $4.99 (on sale)
• Uncle Ben's Ready Rice Butter & Garlic Pouch 2/$4- use the coupon somewhere else, i found a better deal later tonight at Target for $1.52 per pouch (but oh well!)
• Used the following coupons:
• ONE $1 off Snapple tea found here (prints 2x)
• ONE $.75 cents off 1 Uncle Ben's Ready Rice Pouch (no longer available-previously on Smart Source Sampling/Sampler where I got 2 coupons including 1) 1 free pouch Mq and 2) one .75 cents off Mq)
• FYI: You can also get a $.75 cents off coupon for the Whole Grain's product (different from above) by "liking" Uncle Ben's Rice on Facebook.
• Used $5 off next grocery coupon from Transaction #2.
• Total: $.84 cents!

Grand Total: $7.16+.84= $8 bucks (excluding the gift card purchases)
